Software for the Wireless Edge

The portal

Flok

One portal for managing every access point you ship — configuration, monitoring, analytics and updates.

Portal fleet overview listing access points and their status
Management

One view of the fleet

Every access point with its model, status and client count, grouped by organisation. Devices can enrol themselves, or wait for your approval before they join.

Live metrics panel showing throughput, CPU load and active clients
Monitoring

Live, down to five seconds

Throughput, CPU load and client count, with history on a shared timeline. Pick a refresh rate and the access point is asked to match it, so the chart is real measurement rather than interpolation.

Per-client detail in the portal: throughput history, and what the client radio supports
Per-client Info

Every client, and what its radio can do

Throughput and signal history for each connected device, next to what that device is actually capable of: spatial streams, channel width, PHY rates in both directions, and support for Roaming, Radio resource management and BTM.

The firmware panel on an access point: what it is running now, what device it is, and the images published for that device
Updates

OTA updates, easier than ever

Publish an image once and choose who gets it — one customer, a few, or the whole fleet.

The firmware

Trogon

An OpenWrt-based firmware for access points, built and maintained by us and designed against the portal that manages it.

trogon features

EasyMesh
multi-AP mesh on the standard, not a vendor protocol
Roaming
clients handed between APs without dropping the connection
Band steering
dual-band clients moved to the band with room
Load balancing
clients spread across APs rather than piling onto the nearest
Analytics
per-client rates, signal and airtime, reported to the portal
VPN
site-to-site tunnels, configured from the portal
Spectral Scanner
the raw RF power levels on each channel

And the firmware underneath

The platform manages access points; somebody has to build what runs on them. Often that is us.

Engineering services

OpenWrt Firmware Development

Complete firmware programmes on OpenWrt, from bringing up new hardware to shipping signed OTA updates to devices already in the field. Most of that work starts from Trogon: we adapt it to what a customer needs and every feature it already has comes with it.

info@spectromus.com

Spectromus Technologies is a wireless networking software company. We build the parts of a WiFi product that are hard to get right: the firmware on the device, the cloud that manages a fleet of them, and the analytics in between.

We work with OEMs bringing new hardware up, and with operators who need a management plane for hardware they already ship.

Our mailing list

There is no schedule and no monthly send. When we work out something about WiFi firmware that took us a while, and would have taken you the same, it goes out.
